SuperSting Swift Electrode

SuperSting Swift dual mode (patent 6,404,203) electrode switches
The Swift dual mode electrode switches facilitate automatic induced polarization measurement in a multi-electrode array using stainless steel stakes for current injection and non-polarizable (porous pot) electrodes for the potential measurements. The electrode can operate either as a dual mode electrode with separate current injection and potential measurement or in mono mode where both current injection and potential measurement occurs through the larger steel cylinder. The electrode switches has been re-designed in order to reduce the size of the electrode switch. On one side of the electrode switch is a miniature banana jack where the non-polarizable electrode is connected when the electrode is used in dual mode. When the banana jack is not in use, it is covered by a plug to prevent dirt and moisture to enter the jack.
933 034S 4 dual mode switches at 6 meter spacing and 3 meter lead-in and tail.
933 000S 2 dual mode switches at 12 meter spacing and 6 meter lead-in and tail. Fixed mounting of switches.
933 999S Dual Mode Swift molded electrode/switch on cable.
934 401S 1 dual mode switch and 10 meter lead-in and tail to make 20 meter electrode spacing when assembled.

933 040S SuperSting Swift jumper cable
Jumper cable, 2 meter with male and female connector. This cable is used to connect SuperSting to the test box, or to extend the Swift cables when full electrode cable spacing is used, so that the instrument can be connected.

Switch

Boosterbox

991 019 SuperSting Booster Box for SuperSting R8
When performing large surveys with numerous electrodes and/or large electrode separations, the power supply and the control signal level to the electrode switches get attenuated with the distance from the SuperSting. At a certain distance, the electrode switches will not function correctly, resulting in erratic data. In order to resolve this problem, place the SuperSting or a booster box every 50 electrodes along the line. The booster box is powered by a 12 V type motor cycle battery.

Endconnectors

911 223 SuperSting R8 infinity adapter
911 222 SuperSting R1 infinity adapter
When performing surveys like pole-dipole and pole-pole it is necessary to place one or two electrodes at "infinity". For this purpose there are two infinity adapters available. Each adapter has a banana jack where a single lead wire with banana plug can be connected, the single lead wire leads to the infinite electrode. The adapters plug into the ends of the Swift electrode cable where the SuperSting is connected somewhere in the middle.

Bore hole cable

933 116 Bore hole to bore hole survey cable set
This cable set has molded electrodes on a heavy Swift cable designed for underwater use. The cable has a thicker jacket than our Swift land cable, a 700 kg breaking strength kevlar member and waterblock to protect from water entering the cable in case of a cut in the outer jacket. There is an anchor point at the top and the bottom of the cable. A standard set comprises two cables of 25 electrodes each at 2 meter spacing and 75 meter lead-in.

Under water Swift cable

933 117 Under water Swift cable
This cable has molded electrodes on a heavy Swift cable designed for underwater use. The cable has a thicker jacket than our Swift land cable, a 700 kg breaking strength kevlar member and waterblock to protect from water entering the cable in case of a cut in the outer jacket. The standard cable has 25 electrodes each at 2 meter spacing and 75 meter lead-in and tail with male and female termination.

Swift interface

931 000 Swift interface
Swift interface box. This box allows the the MiniSting and Sting earth resistivity meter to communicate with the intelligent smart electrodes.

Swift relay box

930 099 Swift relay box
Swift relay switching box with 28 take-outs (banana connectors) for electrodes. This box is used when the intelligent smart electrodes can not be used by some reason. For example in model measurements in the laboratory or measurement between dry boreholes when the electrodes have to be left in place after the survey.

Swift Signal Booster Box

921 004 Swift Signal Booster Box for SuperSting R1, MiniSting, Sting R1 and Sting R1/IP
The electrode switches along the Swift cable are controlled by signaling from the Sting/Swift. Because of voltage drop along the cable, when very large electrode spreads are used, the signal deteriorates with distance from the Sting/Swift. The Swift Signal Booster Box is placed along the Swift cable every 50 to 60 electrode switches and will boost the signal for an additional 50-60 switches.

Electrode adapters

911 222 Electrode adapters
Set of two adapters, male and female, for connecting the "infinity" electrodes using a wire with banana plug to the Swift cable ends when performing pole-pole and pole-dipole surveys

Stainless steel springs

921 012 Stainless steel springs
Pack of 30 stainless steel springs for attaching the electrode switches to the electrode stakes. The spring has a smaller loop in one end, which fits tightly on the electrode stake so that the spring will not fall off when the stake is hammered into the ground. The other loop is large enough to fit over the stake end, even when the stake has "mushroomed" from being pounded into the ground. This spring will ensure a better electrical contact between the electrode switch and the stake and it will not deteriorate like rubber bands.

Swift cable splicing kit

933 078 Swift cable splicing kit
This kit is used to splice broken Swift cables. The kit comprises molding material, a mold, instruction and miscellaneous minor items.

Swift programming kit

921 001 Swift programming kit
Swift switch address programming kit. This kit is used to reprogram the addresses of Swift switches delivered from August 1998 and on. Using this kit, it is not necessary to open the switches to reprogram them. Simply put the clamp over the switch and attach to a computer, the easy to use software will re-program the switch and check that the new address is working properly. When ordering make sure to identify what type of connector your Swift cables have. Older type connector has 7 pins. New connectors also have seven pins, but place for 9 pins, i.e. 7 pins plus 2 empty places.

Swift resistance test kit

933 910 Swift resistance test kit
Sting/Swift resistance test kit for indoor testing of the Swift cable. A standard set tests 14 smart electrodes at a time. Test kits wich can test more electrodes at at time can be specially ordered.
